Ice Cream and Pie pairings
I would go with peach. They sell peach blueberry pies at the grocery store where I work, & people do buy them! Or the lemon suggested, but preferably not sorbet as all those ice crystals melting could quickly make the crust soggy. Needs something creamier, w/more fat molecules:)!
The Nasty Bits: Lamb's Neck Stew
I LOVE beef tendons and chicken feet, and will be forever indebted to a Taiwanese friend who introduced me to dim sum!!
Lamb's neck is one of my favorite flavorings in the slowcooker: I often add a pound or so to my homemade veggie stews. (No broth-making involved; I just throw them in w/cabbage, lentils, eggplant, etc & my spice blends!)
And when the lowest meat prices are for whole poultry, I stir fry the heart & liver with soy sauce, green chillies, onions, ginger & asafoetida. DELICIOUS, nutritious & economical.
Cook the Book: 'Rustic Fruit Desserts'
I make a stovetop fruit fudge with pureed dried fruit, evaporated milk, powdered skim milk, a pinch of Splenda, & sometimes with a little cardamom, rosewater, and/or unsweetened shredded coconut mixed in. Chilled overnight, it achieves a gooey, brownie-like consistency (especially dried date versions) & disappears fast at parties!

Last bite on earth: animals that are still alive (other than probiotics)

I have been craving these terribly---but I'm lucky...I live in an apartment just a couple of blocks from a tiny international food store that I know sells bags of frozen chicken feet! I have been looking longingly at them for over a year. Now thanks to this recipe, I can make my FAVORITE dim sum at home instead of traveling 40 + minutes to Manhattan!!!!
