Cook the Book: 'Summer on a Plate'

The OLD Joy of Cooking by Rombauer and Rombauer Becker taught me my most basic skills and I still return to it for many things.

Breakfast Tacos at Rosie’s Tamale House in Bee Cave, Texas

I live here and, believe me, breakfast tacos are definitely allowed all the time. They are more prevalent here than McDonald's breakfast, for sure.

Cook the Book: 'Top Chef'

I make a really wicked muffin with lots of fruits and nuts. I guess that's what I'd try.

Cook the Book: 'The Food You Crave'

A big salad with dried fruits, lots of chunky vegetables, nuts, feta...oh yeah, healthy...?

Cook the Book: 'How to Cook Everything Vegetarian' Book Giveaway

My personal variation on Chana Masala wherein I add a bit more nutmeg and some cinnamon as well as ground dried apicots. It makes it a bit sweet as well as spicy.

Paneer. I have always loved eating Indian food at restaurants but recently ventured into a local Indian market and discovered you can buy paneer already made! Paneer is Indian cheese that is more like a really firm tofu and is pretty much a vegetarian staple for Indian food. It has really emboldened me...:)

I've recently tried an apple-oatmeal-walnut cookie with icing that is very pleasing.

Win a Free Organic D'Artagnan Turkey

The Silver Palate's Corn Bread-Sausage Stuffing With Apples, it just looks as if it is something that would be delicious even if there wasn't a 25 pound bird sitting next to it (not that anybody would dare get rid of the bird)

Pick me!!! I would have to say the maple walnut cornbread ... as my attempted cornbread kind of ... well, it sucked .... last year, I am eager to prove to the family that I can in fact cook and this is not something I just make up. Cheers!
