Cook the Book: Lidia's Italy
While the menu changes according to what's in season, I always insist on making homemade bread and homemade butter. Gets 'em every time!

My favorite cornbread comes from my kitchen, but I have to admit I have a secret love for Boston Market cornbread.
Buying meat & fish in bulk, cutting it to the portions I want (if it's not already cut), and then wrapping the meat in pairs for freezing. That way I don't end up defrosting extra meat that I won't use for several days.
Okinawa -- Okinawan cuisine is very similar to mainstream Japanese, but they have lots of their own touches.
Peru -- I've tried some Peruvian dishes and would love to try more. I've been told by my former Peruvian roommate that Peruvian cuisine is the food that all other Latin American countries look to inspiration. (Plus, I would love to see Machu Picchu!)
Mozambique -- It uses lots of fresh seafood, which I love! There are also lots of lovely influences from Portugal found in this dishes. Did I mention piri-piri sauces? :)
If you let me have a fourth, I'd have to add Iran. I LOVE Persian food!
I can eat them straight out of the can, but I like them on toasted wheat bread.
Roast lamb and asparagus! That's Easter for me
Mozzarella, proscuitto, and rocket with a generous drizzle of olive oil, sea salt, and pepper. YUM!
This story isn't about cooking per se, but it does include a chicken. Over some beers with friends one night, my friends and I decided to tell amusing stories to help pass the time. My roommate, who shall remain anonymous, is from the jungles of Indonesia. She's not the type to exaggerate or tell lies, so I assume that it's not a fictionalized tale created under the influence of alcohol. But that night she told us how she once saw a monkey fornicate with a chicken, and that later had the chicken for dinner.
guess what I make a living out of them. I do product development for a certain brand in asia. But eversince I started working on it, I stopped eating them at home. C'mon give me a break, they're everywhere at work. =) I want to eat something else. lol.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with fried sardines but they're great on toasts and on rice as well. One can eat it right off the can or bottle (yes, there are bottled sardines). But for the tomoto sauce based sardines, I'd rather heat them first and add some lemon or a bit of soy sauce.
