The Fest: Our Humblest Apologies to All

Yesterday I called LiveNation at: 1.888.598.4299

After waiting on hold about 10 minutes, I got a service rep. I said that I attended the Great American Food and Music Fest. They didn't even ask me why I was calling - they knew I wanted a refund. They took my last name, and within 2 minutes I had the full amount refunded on my credit card. No copying tickets, no need for order number, etc etc.

So my initial shock and disgust with the festival is tempered now that I have a refund. Thank you Serious Eats and/or LiveNation for at least giving us a refund. I'll eat the $15 parking ticket, and the $44 I paid for 2 pastrami sandwiches and 2 orders of wings (they wouldn't accept our free plate included in the ticket price for the food). Oh and the $46 I paid for 3 beers and 2 bottles of water.

Call 1.888.598.4299 now and get your refund!!!

Sunday Brunch: Asian Shrimp Toast

Ed, seriously - an article about Asian Shrimp Toast?!

Shouldn't you instead be writing an apology for the Great American Food and Music Disaster, for torturing thousands of people in long lines, and wasting their time and money?

Frankly, I'm afraid to make this Asian Shrimp Toast, fearing that it will cost me hundreds of dollars, and then suddenly a 3 hour line will form between me and the dish.

Thanks ucscchick - I called 650.967.3000 and they said I could get a refund if I mailed them a photocopy of the tickets. I told them I was so disgusted with the event that I threw the tickets away. They said in that case, I'll need to call back on Monday.
So it sounds like if you still have the tickets you should be able to easily get a refund; otherwise, call on Monday and hopefully you'll be able to show them your credit charge or something to get a refund.

Actually the only good thing about the event was the fact that alcohol was readily available. It tempered my mood from being extremely pissed off, to just "this sucks ass but whatever, I'll eat something when I get home".

Credit card dispute - great idea, roberts. I can't let them charge me $90 for being tortured by standing in line, out of principle.
Oh, BTW I should mention - one of our friends waited in line 2+ hours for Katz's, and the RAN OUT of pastrami just before he reached the counter. They wisely took off after that.
Our other friends, they arrived, then went straight for the refund line. Apparently, that line was longer than the entrance line by the time they got there.

WORST event I've ever attended. It's ashame, I really wanted to like this too.
Upon arriving, we waited over an hour to enter Shoreline. Then, it was about 1.5 hours to get some food. There was no organization, the lines were chaotic, and the food was way overpriced.
I finally got some Anchor bar wings after almost a 3 hour wait in line (with a crying baby), and they were UNDERCOOKED. I wanted to order a beer to go with the wings, but they said I had to wait in a DIFFERENT line for the beer!!

Come on people, this is a Food Festival. Waiting in line for *3* hours to get what you came to the festival for is BIG TIME FAIL.

What could have been a great festival turned into the biggest waste of time and money I've ever experienced.
