memorial day menu plans?

last night it was grilled pizza. yum. tonight its hamburgers, (as in, burgers, hot dogs, brats, sausage, etc.) roasted potato salad, beans and cole slaw. tomorrow, its italian american days, all day! monday, brisket and whatever else the rest of the family brings. lots of wine all four days and some beer will be had by others :) love this weekend. one of my favorite of the year! let summer begin! cheers!

Have you ever been snowed in and what did you eat?

whenever it snows we enjoy a laid-back, do-not-hurry-in morning. i walk down to my sisters house and she makes waffles and bacon. homemade waffles with strawberries (usually frozen) whip cream, bacon, oj and coffee. is there anything better? i dont think so. cheers!

OK - I have a question, hopefully someone can answer. Planning on making these for tomorrow for 9 people. Given that there is a giant turkey and 4 other sides, how much should I make? this says it serves 4 but I feel like it serves 4 when it's not thanksgiving. Thoughts???

Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake. A few years ago, we had a two pumpkin desserts at our Thanksgiving dinner -- a pumpkin pie a la Mom, and a pumpkin gooey butter cake made by my daughter. The Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake one hands down. It is decadent, but it is Holiday-worthy!
