*sigh* I moved to a little town that doesn't even carry Ghiradhelli chips. But I just tried the new Nestle dark chocolate chips (53% cocoa). Not quite the high-end nicer chips, but much better than their original semisweet or Herseys. I guess I can survive the next 2 years here... =)

How to Make a Flaky Pie Crust

I use the Cook's Illustrated trick, and use ice cold vodka instead of ice water to bind the pie crust dough together. And keep the fats ice cold. I don't own a food processor (gasp! I know!) so I freeze my fats, and then grate them into the flour. Then you get perfect cornmeal crumbs.

Who has buttermilk on hand? I never do. But Lemons and Milk are a staple in my fridge!
1 cup minus 1 tablespoon 2% milk + 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice = 1 cup buttermilk substitute.

This reminds me of the kimchi burgers I used to get in college.

I've never been tempted for a burger at Monks, since the mussels are so killer. I agree with Buckethead. Good Dog makes a great burger. And their sweet potato fries a delicious. Oh, how I miss Philly!

Dinner Tonight: Bibimbap

Bibimbop translated means mixed rice. Anything goes into it. At home, you throw all your "ban-chan" (the traditional Korean veggie side dishes) over rice, add a splash of sesame oil and red pepper paste.
It's the best left-over dinner. =)

Next time, add spinach (blanch it like you did the sprouts). Then mix with a little sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds, chopped scallion, minced garlic, and s&p. Do the same for the sprouts, and you're bibimbap will taste loads better!
