Fatty 'Cue. Good Stuff.

Went there a week-and-a-half with four friends, and ordered nearly everything on the menu. It was transcendent. The curry-rubbed duck was amazing, the bacon in the clams' broth had this perfectly charred yet chewy texture, and the spiced sauces that came with most dishes kept it from getting too heavy. The only thing we didn't try was the crab soup, since we didn't think it would share well.

Oh - and if you order the mackerel (which you should) ask about frying the bones when you're done. Seriously. We'd never heard of it, but it works.

Best movie reference of a cookie? "All the President's Men."

Carl Bernstein: [Carl gets up and goes to open a jar of cookies] I think it's Magruder because at one time he was the temporary head of the Committee to Re-Elect before Mitchell.
[he flings one at Bob who, still furiously typing away, catches it without missing a beat]
Bob Woodward: I don't want a cookie.

Cook the Book: 'Bobby Flay's Burgers, Fries & Shakes'

Maybe it's childhood nostalgia, but my favorite burger ever was from the Fireside Pizzeria in Schenectady NY. It was as big as a dinner plate, on a big doughy roll, and covered in mozzerella cheese. Yes, absolute blasphemy based on the usual criteria for a good burger, but it was a fantastic mix with excellent fries, and one of the best pickles ever.
