Nerd wines with Nerd Food? Too dorky or just enough?
Gastro-nerd cocktails didn't work so well with gastro-nerd cuisine at Room 4 Dessert. I had better luck with a middle of the road Riesling.

If Bourdain's right, it should be Tuesday for the high end, the night when ingredients are most likely to be fresh and chefs are least likely to be hung over. That said, I'm best able to enjoy a marathon meal on Saturday when I'm most likely to be fresh and least likely to be hung over.
Don't know either, but I've had the same experience.
I don't eat out that often, but I prefer to eat dinner out during the week and I love getting up early and going for breakfast on Saturday's.
I don't think I have a favorite. Weekends are always bigger eating out nights, but I enjoy weekday dinners just as much. I think I go out to eat too much!

Chew on That
If TimeOut NY's recent edition is accurate, the vast majority of the chef's interviewed responded Tuesdays - both for the food freshness and the fact that most chef's, in NYC anyway, take Monday's off.
I think it varies by cuisine and lifestyle. Right now, I need to be thrifty, so I check out Happy Hour food and drink specials, which are definitely better during the week. The best time for serious restaurant eating is whenever someone else can pick up the bill- usually my parents!
Used to be Friday nights, not because of any concessions to freshness (either the food or the chef), but because this working mom was just plain beat at the end of the week -- and paydays were always on Fridays as well. Now that my kids are grown and out of the house (at least, for now), the meal I most enjoy eating out is a hearty Saturday morning breakfast.
I've had to force places a few times because my job basically requires that we get receipts for anything we spend, but I never know why its so hard. I would guess though that once in a while yoy get a delivery guy who adds on a dollar here and there...its always good to check the menu if you're unsure.
Well it is great to know there is another pork chop out there. Are you from NYC area? I Think it would be great to chat. Here is my email address chef_2b@yahoo.com. I would love to hear from you.
