I have also seen flavored finishing flake salts that are colored. For example, the citrus flavor is yellow, the chili flavor has a reddish hue and so on. I even saw black flake salt the other day and it caught my eye. Wondering if anyone has tried black flake salt and if so, what would you use it on?
Collapsable silicone measuring cups from Williams Sonoma. Good if you don't have a lot of storage space.
Can fresh herbs be frozen as they are in a freezer bag and then thawed and used at a later date?
I know that garnishing can do a lot for soups...like adding, certain cheeses, sour cream, croutons, etc. My co-worker was telling me about a cream of asparagus soup she had that was finished with a rosemary flavored flake salt sprinkled on top. I hadn't heard of flavored salt before and it sounded interesting. Has anyone else used flavored salts to finish / garnish their recipes? Any tips?
Mmmm is right! Everything sounds great. I have noticed that Butternut Squash seems to be a popular soup flavor in the stores these days, but I have not bought one that compares to some that I had at a restaurant recently. I believe it had ginger in it and was topped with chives and creme fraiche- amazing! Any good Butterut Squash Soup recipes to share?
I had a three cheese white pizza the other day with a Marscapone sauce. I believe it had mozzarella, parmesan, and asiago cheeses along with basil and garlic.
I am trying white chocolate bread pudding. Haven't tried it yet, but it sounds delicious.
