Cook the Book: '660 Curries' by Raghavan Iyer

My first experience was as a child and it didn't go well. It was a terrible restaurant and I ended up getting food poisoning. It kind of turned me off to Indian food until I was way into adulthood, when my husband drug me to another Indian restaurant to make me try again. Am I sure glad I did! I felt like my mouth came alive with all the wonderful flavors. I learned not to let one bad experience turn me off to anything anymore - Indian food is simply delicious.

Cook the Book: 'Mrs. Rowe's Little Book of Southern Pies'

My first batch of falafel (taamaya) turned out so horrible, I had to pitch the whole thing and I was so miserable! It sucked because I had planned this huge dinner for my husband who is Egyptian, and thought I could handle it. I remember him telling me "even my sister can't make this dish!" as he tried to make me feel better. I still can't make authentic falafel.

Cook the Book: 'L.A.'s Original Farmers Market Cookbook'

We have two Farmer's Markets close to me - one in Sunnyvale and one in Mountain View. I always go to the one in Sunnyvale because there is a local farmer there that sells the most amazing strawberries ever! They also sell kettle corn there which is out of this world. Thanks for the giveaway!
