Cook the Book: The River Cottage Cookbook
I grow herbs on the porch, but if I had the space, I would so grow tomatoes. And if I lived on the west coast, I'd want a fig tree.

I like to make a lot of pizza dough on the weekends and then freeze it for the week. What is faster and more versatile than a pizza?
I can never resist Cadbury creme eggs. As a child, I used to get the large ones in my Easter basket. Now, if I can help it, I try to only eat a few of the minis, which are super addictive. It's probably best that they're only available around Easter!
"Alas! You are the apple of my eye." I still have this one, I thought it was so funny. I love fortunes that aren't actually fortunes, but instead are odd compliments that seem to come from the cookie itself.
genoa salami and cornichons, with a little butter on a baguette. The perfect quick warm sandwich!
Like many others, my mother taught me the cooking basics. As a child, while all my friends were drinking kool-aid and eating frozen pizzas, my mother was teaching me how to can tomatoes from the garden or make a bechemel sauce. At the time, all I wanted was to enjoy a bowl of Capt'n Crunch with my friends instead of the quiche lorraine I ate for breakfast. Today, I wax nostalgic about those early cooking lessons whenever I fuss around the kitchen at my mother's house. I still consider her the best cook I know.
Soo many things. The first thing that comes to mind is her wine poached chicken with charmoula.

Tomatoes...there's nothing better than fresh tomatoes!
I just went and picked up stuff for garden today. I got some cucumbers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, onions and jalapeno peppers.
If I could - I would grow bell peppers, we go through them so quickly. But the deer around here would eat them all and if they didn't get to them, the rabbits, raccoons and other "critters" would!
Asparagus, leeks, shallots, 4 kinds of tomatoes (2 heirloom brandwines), corn, 2 kinds of cucumbers (one is lemon flavored), mixed pan patty squash, mixed radishes, wax beans, carmel flavored canteloupe, 3 kinds of watermelons (one seedless), and blueberries. I love growing unusaual veggies
I have a "tub" garden and am growing tomatoes & peppers.
