you can never go wrong with bacon...can't really overcook it because it still tastes good crunchy. can't really undercook it because it still tastes good chewy. it tastes good with pretty much everything under the sun, including CHOCOLATE. try it people - chocolate covered bacon...your mouth won't know what hit it.
Lunch with a coworker who you don't like
I used to have a problem like this...I ate lunch with this co-worker once and then she would want me to go everyday. If I said no then she would nag me until I went. She literally dumped me out of my chair once. So I came up with the most ridiculous excuse/lie and told it to her and that was it. I'm not even going to tell you the excuse because it was so stupid hahaha. I guess I would say that you are getting behind in work and you want to work while you eat?
If she continues to make food while you eat at your desk (assuming you work at a desk), just throw it out when she's not there!!!!

usually pastina...water, olive oil for flavor, throw in the tiny star pastina and whip up some egg to dump in and there you have it. delicious, comforting, and filling. quick and easy too!

escarole and beans...my mom makes it with day old bread, the crusts would be fine because it gets a little soggy anyway
Hell's Kitchen - Real or a Joke?
I like watching it for some reason but hate Gordon Ramsey and the way he talks to people/degrades them. Also, I would never eat anything that these people are cooking in this kitchen. All they ever make is risotto, lamb, john dory, or beef wellington anyway.
Taste Test: Gluten-Free, Vegan-Friendly Shirataki Noodles
Definitely do not use them as a replacement for pasta with tomato sauce...the texture is completely different from pasta. Very chewy. I would only use them in asian noodle dishes. Nothing can replace real pasta for me.
"dinner" vs "supper"
I think it depends on what's served. We have "chicken dinner," "lasagna dinner," "steak dinner," "breakfast for dinner," "chili supper," spaghetti supper," "soup and salad supper." "Lasagna supper" just doesn't sound right.

I have lived in Missouri (St. Louis) all my life. We always called the second meal of the day "Lunch", and the last meal of the day, "Supper". Although Dinner and Supper could be used interchangeably My husband's family did the same thing.. I notice my older siblings are now calling it "dinner" when they invite us over. I have always used the word Supper unless we are going out to a formal meal, then I will call it Dinner.
We have always used the word soda. My uncle used to call it sodie.

I love Flying Saucers, cuz the styrofoam shell helps to counter the fizzy sherbet inside.
Our A-Level English teacher gave out some during our final lesson, and some of the boys decided to open them out, cut the sherbet into lines and snort it. Why, I ask you. WHY?

In the UK these are called Flying Saucers, but they are filled with fizzy sherbet rather than beads.
One of my favourite tricks at school was to open them up, mix in some curry or chilli powder, re-seal them and give them to unsuspecting victims.
Interestingly some people preferred my enhanced recipe...

Actually, Sonic (the chain restaurant) made a "birthday cake shake" for their 50th birthday in 2003. Theirs was pretty good, though a bit too sweet for me.

Please... if someone didn't like the restaurant, are they seriously going to go back for a 20% discount? NO!
This incentive may bump up a review from 3 to a 4 stars at most - I think most reviewers are pretty judicious with their 5 star ratings.

Unlike other commenters, I have one of these and after trying it a few time, decided I hate using it. I'm going to have to give it away.
If your apples are slightly bumpy or misshaped, it doesn't work well. Adjusting the wingnut to change how much peel is coming off is harder to do than you would think. The suction cup on mine has never satisfactorily attached to any surface I've used. The metal parts started rusting after the first use.
The last time I used it, I decided a paring knife would have taken me about half the time. Good riddance!
