So Long, Folks (and See You Next Week)

Adam, I'm so glad you're still going to be somewhat around seriouseats.com . I don't know if you remember this, but I posted this (http://www.seriouseats.com/talk/2009/09/we-are-happy-to-serve-you-cups-last-seen.html) when I first moved to New York about 2 years ago. Your sage advice about letting the cup come to me became a metaphor for a lot of my experiences in New York, and I really wanted to thank you for that. PLUS! When I found the cup, you were kind enough to post the photo I sent you on this wonderful website. Best wishes at your new job, and I'll be sure to check nycgo.com too!

ED! BRAVOOO!

just a question - does any one else at SE have food issues like this? when surrounded by such deliciousness all week, i know i would face the same conundrum of pleasure and fear like you. I can't imagine that you are alone with this common difficulty at SE.

just wondering. keep up the great work!

Cooking confession...

@czken: i know... my friends are usually disgusted too. i just can't get enough of the sugary savory vinegary goodness. in my defense, i use the trader joe's organic cane sugar kind, and not the hfcs kind. but that's just like saying i smoke lite cigarettes instead of regular ones.... *bows head in shame*

Sweet Fruit in Savory Dishes

One of my favorite condiments is Trader Joe's peach salsa. I mix it in with salads or use it as a quick kicker for sandwich toppings. It's an addicting flavor.

"We are happy to serve you" cups: Last seen?!

@adam kuban: thank you for your kind kind words!

i actually saw someone on queens blvd carrying one ( i live in sunnyside ) and wanted to ask him, but i was mid-run and VERY sweaty. just YESTERDAY i saw a person eating breakfast at a local bakery with the cup, and wanted to stop in and get a coffee, but i was in a hurry. i tried to go this morning, and they had CHANGED. THE. CUP.

you are right. i am going to look for it, but also be patient and letting it come to me. when i find it, it'll be the day i officially settled, and it will be my New York Anniversary.

p.s. i really love all your reviews on slice, and i feel like you @replying me already gave a great NY experience. :)

A Guide to the Best Blueberry Muffins in New York City

i might have to deactivate my seriouseats login for shame after saying this... BUT! any west coasters here? i appreciate fine dining like no other, but my favorite blueberry muffin is actually from a chain buffet restaurant called souplantation/sweet tomato. i don't know what they do there, but their crust is just perfectly buttery and a great texture, and the muffin is so moist. it's mini, so i always end up having two, or one + one muffin top.

mmm... woop for blueberry season!
