@lemons, @Christina - golden bakers' sugar is a granulated sugar with molasses, but not as dark as american light brown sugar. you can find it in some specialty stores, or you could substitute regular granulated white sugar.

I agree - totally overpriced. But they would be a nice addition to a party because they're so small (and the price drops as you order more). As for flavor, I was actually really impressed how moist and flavorful they were. There are some badddd cupcakes in this city so these actually tasted decent.
