Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: La Quercia's Cured Meat Experience

absolute favorite way to eat it is definitely by itself. Other options include on super fresh crusty bread with a nice glass (or two!) of white wine. yum!

Bizarre Foods: Andrew Zimmern Meets His Match in Thailand

I love it when people are willing to expose their tastebuds to new things, but Andrew Zimmern just takes it to a whole new level with his beyond borderline ignorant comments. Yes, I get the point of the show is about bizarre foods and that episode where he ate the beating cobra heart still gives me nightmares, but to straight out say that specialty food items are absolutely disgusting not only insults whatever culture he may be a guest in, but even the average foodie. If you don't like it, don't eat it.

Your Fast Food Urge.....just had mine...tasty.

Every few weeks, I get a sudden unexplainable craving for McD's 20 piece chicken nuggets with sweet n' sour. I proceed to eat the shell off before I can eat the salty sponge within. Takes a loooong time, but it's so much more enjoyable this way!

Cook the Book: 'What We Eat When We Eat Alone'

Prepackaged cilantro and pork dumplings fried until they're nice and crispy, packages of super spicy ramen with just enough water to dissolve the soup base and make a nice spicy paste, kale chips topped with truffle oil and garlic salt and whenever possible, leftover garlic and salt veggies from dinner the night before - best eaten cold. yuum.
...I may have a problem with salt-dependency..

I eat ______ out of the tin/jar/bottle...

hummus, taramasalata (Whole Foods makes a pretty good version), peanut butter, queso cheese dip (who needs chips for dipping?) rainbow sprinkle icing and capers. Sometimes a person just needs instant gratification :]

Eating with Dieters

I've come to realize that most, if not all, of my close friends were picked because of their shared love of a good meal (and sometimes, just an appreciation for pigging out). I hateee hearing "I hate you for eating all that and still being so skinny" and "cupcakes for breakfast again?!" from coworkers and friends alike. I enjoy food and hate having my eating habits scrutinized. Your friend might just have realized that she could make a few changes with her diet just for health reasons (shinier hair, nice skin, etc) instead of anything related to an eating disorder. If you really feel so self conscious about it, perhaps you should bring it up at your next encounter and just let her know you're making sure there's nothing wrong with her eating habits. Then just let go and enjoy what you want because there are too many delicious things that have yet to be exposed to your tastebuds :)

Frank Bruni - Soon a Critic No More

I for one, will miss reading his semi-bitchy but brutally honest reviews.

I know I should give up _____ (food/drink item), but....

Instant noodles. I always ALWAYS have to use the entire packet of MSG each time (for the full flavor effect - it's not the same without it!) and I spend the rest of the day/night feeling bloated but oh-so-satisfied :)

Need help picking a US foodie travel destination!

As a New Yorker, I don't think it's fair for you judge the food here based on your experience at McDonalds. It's MCDONALDS - it's supposed to impart the same exact flavor no matter where you are in the world (thank you globalization!). SE New York has a ton of amazing recommendations for all and any of your craziest cravings - African, Moroccan, Italian, Japanese/Nepalese fusion (?!), etc. As one of the most diverse cities in the world, I think it's safe to say that the desires of your stomach will be satisfied (especially if those cravings hit you at 2pm).

About: I got a case of the serious munchies.

Favorite foods: Thai, Japanese, Turkish, Viet, Greek, Italian, the Monster Burger from IHOP.

Last bite on earth: I'd start with the ridiculously delicious pita and taramasalata from Akdeniz between 5th and 6th, deep fried lobster, and then finish the meal with a rack of lamb, cooked medium rare. YUM.
