Cook the Book: 'Food Trucks'

A 'fat Indian' and 'fat vegetarian' from Rutger's food trucks, known for their fat bitch subs. I love going there in general, but the most memorable was when the boyfriend and I both demolished two.. then proceeded to get a flat tire thanks to nj roadways. Do you realize how uncomfortable it is waiting around and changing tires when you had a sandwich filled with fries, scrambled eggs, falafel and cheesesteak?!!

What Was Your Favorite School Cafeteria Food?

I only had caf food my freshman year and only ate the mozzarella sticks. They were oozy, hot and the sauce was delicious. Once I left that Catholic high school and transferred to public, I couldn't even look at the food there. It all looked gray to me and was usually cold. Yuck.

Would You Go to a Chain Restaurant on a First Date?

I wouldn't complain if that's where he chose, but I doubt I would want a second date. Unless we went there for some cheap drinks.. then I wouldn't mind. But there's so many places around here that I'd never choose a chain. My boyfriend and I have been to a few together, when we were on road trips and they are the only thing open at midnight and it makes us both kind of miserable.

'What We Eat When We Eat Alone'

Usually I buy bread and fresh pasta sauce (usually vodka sauce, other times a very garlicky tomato-based sauce) and good quality parm. I put a TON of cheese on top of the sauce, microwave it for a good two minutes so it's somewhat crispy and that's my dinner. No clean up and mindless :)

Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 75: Can (and Should) I Give Up the Flavored Liquid Habit?

I gave up soda about eight years ago -- every once in awhile I'll have a few sips, but that's it. When I *do* indulge in flavored beverages, it's usually from places where they are made in house -- ginger beer, raspberry syrup, etc -- but I also love this vanilla seltzer, by penguin brand.. it tastes like cream soda without all the sweetness. I love it!
