Would you say the beef roll exterior is like a scallion pancake-type dough? I looked online for a beef roll recipe and didn't really see much. Those look delicious though, and I'd like to try to make something like this at home. Any suggestions?

what's in mustard that makes it an emulsifier? I know egg yolks contain lecithin which I think is what helps them emulsify a dressing like Caesar. But isn't mustard just ground mustard, vinegar, and white wine?

The regular peppermint says Ice Cream on the top of the lid. Maybe the Slow Churned does not, but the regular definitely does.

Chick-fil-A's Spicy Chicken Sandwich

I find the breading on the spicy chicken sandwich @ CFA to be too thick. Anyone else feel this way? Also, it seems like the breading on the regular CFA sandwich is getting thicker. Is there an overzealous chicken breader at my local restaurant (assuming they do it in house), or is it something new they're trying out?

Oh my goodness, I just got a vita-mix and I love it!! I go on and on about it - I can see my lady's eyes glaze over sometimes, but I don't care. It's the shiznit! It was totally worth the price. I've used it every day since I've had it and hardly ever used my now deceased kitchenaid blender when it was working. Love, love, love it!

Comment of the Day: Strange Things in Your Freezer?

Yeah I hear about someone killing a person and putting their body in the freezer and it doesn't really bother me. Not saying I'd want to make that discovery, but it seems like it happens quite often. Old news. However reading about a pet in a freezer turns my stomach for some reason. I realize it might be necessary in some's just - yikes!!

That said, I put all of my meat wrappers into the freezer in the summer. If I buy a piece of beef or chicken and throw the plastic and styrofoam into the trash, the next morning the house smells like death. I keep them in the freezer and add them to the trash when it's time to take the trash out. That's if I can remember!

Anyone have a Vitamix blender?

Ed, it's such a struggle to lose weight when food is such a passion - I know. Just be mindful. Each choice you make will make a difference, whether it be drinking one less glass of wine, or giving or throwing away part of your lunch...quel horreur!!!
