Cook the Book: 'Arthur Schwartz's Jewish Home Cooking'
matzo ball soup!
Freshman year of college, a bunch of friends and I decided to cook Thanksgiving dinner in the dorm kitchen. We got the largest chicken we could find at the local grocery store -- carrying it and all the other food on foot through the cold was a feat in itself. Of course, each person had their own idea of how the chicken should be cooked and for how long. Given all the arguing and people secretly adding oil or butter and this spice or that, it should have been a disaster, but somehow, everything turned out great!
Bruce Bogtrotter's cake, from the Roald Dahl cookbook!
Boule de neige -- basically flourless chocolate cake topped with whipped cream. The best!
A salad of fresh tomatoes, corn and basil straight from the garden in summer, dressed with balsamic vinaigrette.
Never made one yet, but it sounds like she has many solid offerings.
Gosh, just one? It totally depends on my mood and the season. I do love Vietnamese-style spring rolls filled with tofu and vegetables, served with peanut sauce.
Thanks for participating and congratulations to our winners!

I love latkes. Thanks for this opportunity.
I've never had a favorite and therefore would love to develop one. I dont think I've ever had any Jewish food.
I years for my Grandmothers Noodle Kugel. All warm and sheesy with raisong throughout. A wonderful cuttable texture. A true food for the soul. Brings back memories of our holidays together.
