Anybody make their own sausage at home?
My BF wants to make his own sausage. Looking for recommendations on equipment, etc. Thought it would make a great Christmas gift.
Any recommendations are appreciated!
My daddy's in Michigan.
@gore-may...not to worry...I don't, and won't, do any of the things that you warned against...EVER! These kidlets are much more adventurous with food than I ever was, or will ever be! Heck, I'm lucky that I let my food touch! =) I really appreciate your words of wisdom. As these are not my biological kidlets...I've been doing a whole lot of learning lately!
Wow! Thank you all so much for your creative suggestions! I'm overwhelmed with your suggestions! Thank you, again.
Thanks. Fortunately, these kidlets will, pretty much eat anything. I just feel stalled..
Ah...love me some Buddy's.....next time you should try Alibi Inn in Troy on Rochester Road. Round pizza with little pepperoni rafts of grease! To die for!
Makes me miss downstate pizza...nothing like Buddy's, Loui's or Alibi Inn...*sigh*
Ooohhh..and Towne Club soda stores. We would go there as a family, once a month. My brother and I would get to pick any flavors we wanted, and load them in to the provided wood crates. My favorite was always the creme soda in a clear bottle with light blue top. I know they still make it, but it comes in a plastic bottle...which completely ruins it for me. =)
Burger Chef...only because you could add your own condiments to your burgers. Mine usually ended up 90% pickles...
This isn't fair. There aren't any in Michigan....well, there's one, but it's 300 miles from where I live. Wonder how the chicken sammiches freeze...
Potato chips topped with pickle relish...
Bugles filled with cheese spray and topped with an M&M....
Not sure which is weirder...the fact that there is a National Lasagna Day? Or the fact that I got *really* excited about it!? :)
Yum! Thanks everyone!
Doesn't get much better than a Caprese salad! =)
The fried basil sounds wonderful, as well! Can't wait to try it. Thanks for the creative idea.
Any tips on how to dry the basil?
@Nichole - sending hubby out for some Jack right now! LOL Sounds delicious!
Thanks for the tips! Looks like I have Basil Pesto in my future!
Thank you for the suggestions everyone! I greatly appreciate you taking the time to post.

I'm tired of the old chuck roast/pot roast cooked with veggies. While delicioius, it tends to get a bit old. Any suggestions on a new spin I can give it?
Thank you, in advance.
I am getting tired of preparing the same old sides...green beans, corn and broccoli prepared a million different ways. Looking for new suggestions. Cooking for a 13 year old and two 10 year olds. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
I have way too many hungarian hots this season. Any recommendations on how to preserve them? Pickling? Help! Thank you.
Good morning! I'd like to surprise the man and his kidlets with a crab leg dinner tonight. I don't eat seafood, so I have absolutely no clue as to how to prepare them! I'm guessing boiled...And, I have no clue as to how many pounds to get! Any tips or tricks are appreciated!
Hello!
I am new to gardening and have, rather successfully, grown copious amounts of basil. I'm at a loss as to what to do with it - outside of using it for immediate cooking. Any recommendations are sincerely appreciated.
Thanks!
I have 15 pounds of these delicious loin chops and am looking for suggestions on how to prepare them. I'm a little overwhelmed at the thickness...I've never cooked anything thicker than a 1" chop...
Thank you in advance for your recommendations.
