We're Neil and Jessica and we live in the middle of the midwest. I'd Roll Need chronicles our very random life's happenings and design inspiration as we grow our business, work hard, and live as healthy and actively as possible. We love cooking great meals, racing and jumping into every new thing head first, especially DIY projects.

The Pillsbury Bake-Off makes me sad...

Being relatively new to foodie-ism, I've definitely seen the many layers as I've delved to find where my own particular tastes reside. What started as using prepared ingredients (like canned biscuits) to make something evolved to making more from scratch, to making more things vegan/vegetarian and from scratch/organic and that's where I feel I fit.

For some people, meals constructed from pre-made ingredients is as far as they want to go, and I can respect that, even if I think its falling short. I have to be happy that at least they are cooking, and hopefully maybe taking an interest in the foods they consume, rather than just hitting McDonalds.

As for the contest, I hope it eventually goes back to ingredients, but considering they want to advertise product, that may now be the priority over the legitimacy of the contest.

KFC's New Double Down "Sandwich"

I'm from Missouri, and let me tell you there are lots of people who will eat this. Ever time I drive by my local KFC (we have two, both in low-income neighborhoods) they are packed and cars are lined up.

I also like a random greasy food encounter, but that doesn't mean I want to throw all responsibility to the wind.

Lamberts food is pretty gross. It's lure is purely kitsch and it draws the senior demographic headed to and from Branson.

Depends what you are in the mood for. I would stop in Springfield because there's not a ton of great places between and Springfield is hugely populated with some great restaurants.

My husband and I love Bambu (http://www.springfieldbambu.com/) and Umi (http://www.umisushibar.com/home_page.htm). But if you're in the mood for something else, let me know and I can give you better recommendations based on your preferences.

Taste Test: Veggie Burgers

My husband wouldn't even consider vegetarianism until he had a Morningstar Chick'n burger and loved it. They are by far and a way the best.
