Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Counter Culture Coffee Subscription

At home: Milk (heated), two sugars. Lately though I've been adding a glug of eggnog to replace both. Super tasty. When I'm out it depends on the quality of the coffee; Dunkin' Donuts - as sweet and creamy as I can get it; somewhere were there's better coffee, a splash of cream only.

What would you eat if you couldn't chew for a week?

I love buying the cheap Maggi powdered chicken broth for when I'm out of commission ... Overcook a smidge of white rice in that .... mmmm. And lots and lots of ice cream, of course. Last time I had a wisdom tooth out I took the rest of the day off work, rented Pedro Almodovar movies and ate chocolate ice cream all day long.

When Is It Socially Acceptable to Share Food?

I have one friend for whom most of our eating outs (or occasional takeouts) go thusly: order. eat, eat, eat, eat, switch. eat, eat, eat, eat, switch ... we wind up the meal with both of our plates somewhere near the center of the table as we pick over them ... However, she's about the only person I'll do that with. In my family if we go out we usually ask for a bite, and it's always given ... or we proactively offer a bit of our own as a hint that we want some of theirs.

Cook the Book: 'What We Eat When We Eat Alone'

I first discovered the joys of eating alone when I was a kid ... I'd grab a crusty roll (we had good bakeries nearby), butter it, stick some cheese in there and camp out in the yard on a blanket with a book. These days I'm in love with egg-in-a-hole, cooked in butter, and a cup of hot tea with copious amounts of sugar. (Although admittedly I've also been known to live off of Lucky Charms for days at a time ...)

Impromptu Taste Test: The Cult of Yakult

I grew up in Paraguay, South America, and all of my Chinese and Korean classmates brought Yakult (imported from Brazil) to school every single day. I never tried it ... I remember the color of it kind of freaking me out as a child, so even now I'm irrationally afraid to taste it.
