Street Food in Germany: The Döner Kebap Sandwich

In the UK, these places are generally considered the epitome of unhealthy food for two reasons: 1) Hygiene - both of the restaurant environment itself and the uncertain heritage of the meat contained therein and 2) People tend to eat them at the end of a "night on the lash". Obviously there are exceptions to the rule. most notably where there are large Lebanese or Turkish communities. NB: The rotating kebab from which the meat is carved is known as an "elephant's leg".

Burger Disappointment at Square One Dining in Hollywood

This is the sort of junk we have to put up with all the time in Britain. We have several "premium" burger joints that think stacking it high like that makes it the real deal. The best it has ever got here was Wendy's, and even THEY'VE bailed now.

Mind you, our chips / fries rock!

Gerrit's Satellite Wafers: Cute Packaging, But Tastes Disgusting

In the UK these are called Flying Saucers, but they are filled with fizzy sherbet rather than beads.

One of my favourite tricks at school was to open them up, mix in some curry or chilli powder, re-seal them and give them to unsuspecting victims.

Interestingly some people preferred my enhanced recipe...
