Today's Special Burger at RUB BBQ: Butter Burger
Oh, they aren't Nick, I'm just saying that if I'm in town and I go to RUB, I'm getting Burnt Ends first, burgers second. You can get both, of course!

I realize this is Burgers...but you don't go to RUB for Burgers. You go for Burnt Ends. Being from KC (which gets no love from AHT...*sigh), I can tell you from being there last week, get the burnt ends. It's some of the best KC-Style BBQ outside of KC.

re: the Kansas City comment. This is how Winstead's (http://aht.seriouseats.com/tags/Missouri look at the bottom of the page) has made their burgers since 1940. Worth the trip.

KC resident here (actually, Olathe)...if you're going to do Burnt Ends in town, and you want somewhere different than the norm (that is, everyone saying Jack Stack, Oklahoma Joe's, Gates, and Bryant's), try these gems:
Danny Edward's Boulevard BBQ - previously known as Eat It and Beat It, but was ousted from it's spot due to eminent domain and the Sprint Center. Hands down the best beef in town I've had. On the Boulevard in KC.
RJ's Bob-B-Que - this little gem unfortunately was on Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives, so now it's packed. But, for a twist, go here (Johnson Drive and Lamar) for their breakfast and the Burnt End Hash. OMG it's sooooo goood.
Woodyard BBQ - another DDD place, but this is a half restaurant/half wood yard (where the other places get their wood), and their Chili with Burnt Ends on top rocks. Not the fanciest place, but oh so good (Merriam Lane off Lamar north of I-35 in Merriam) - oh, and they have Smoked Burgers! Gotta love that.
