@dbcurrie: Apparently, one of the librarians at the University of Denver passed away and left her entire collection with the university. That is the story, anyway.
@Traveller -- where in Denver? This is where the world's largest cookbook collection is???? OMG, I may be getting giddy at the thought.
Tell me more, pleeeeeez!
@Traveller - Thanks for the info. I live in a state that's not too far from Colorado. Maybe I can convince my husband that we should move. :)
Keep us posted as you continue baking your way through the Blue Ribbon Baking Book. I will have to try cooking my way through a book sometime, but I wouldn't even begin to know which one to pick. Too many cookbooks, too little time.
@MelsDiner: It's in Denver, if you are interested. :) Oh, and thanks very much for the Joy of Cooking reference! I have never been onto the wikipedia thing, but I guess that it's nice to know that it can be helpful, at least in some areas!
@Traveller - Ah, what a relief! Thousands of dollars saved! Now to live long enough to enjoy the completed project. In a weird masochistic kind of way, I kind of envy the guy who's uploading all those recipes. I have a feeling I live nowhere near where this project is being undertaken, but if I did, I would happily volunteer to help.
@MelsDiner: No need! They are currently trying to (very slowly) compile all of the recipes online!!! I have no idea how far along they are, since I think that it's just one guy and a computer screen, but who knows, maybe it will get done!
