Dinner: Impossible with Michael Symon?

I'll probably be stoned for this, but I think Michael Symon is completely overrated. If you have eaten at his restaurant you will find that the food is not complicated, technically or otherwise, and is a little boring. I have had meals from other chefs in Cleveland that blow him away and are way better chefs and are more interesting. For instance, Chef Denise Demmitt worked in the same kitchens as Symon and throws down a more interesting, intense meal than Symon. Irvine should stay.

I really didn't care for Robert Irvine much at all. But I like Michael Symon. But I wonder how good he'll make the show.

I started watching Dinner Impossible about a month or two before the scandal. I just thought that so many of the episodes that I saw weren't very chef-like. Cooking at a school graduation with some cranky, insecure cook who has to give up his kitchen kind of turned me off.

Maybe Michael Symon will make the show better?????

Wow, so is this why Michael Symon is NEVER on the new season of Iron Chef? The hubby and I were pulling for him to win NIC, and now he's never the competitor chosen for battle.

I watch Dinner Impossible, and I am surprised at how many people here are commenting that Irvine can cook. From my observation, he does pretty ordinary things. I know he is under time restraints, but it usually isn't anything innovative. I think Symon may do a better job, and his personality seems to be better for watchable tv.

I hadn't heard this news. I'm actually curious to see how it works out. I liked the premise of Dinner Impossible, but for some reason couldn't get past Robert Irvin's personality. There was something very off-putting about it to me, so I rarely watched. I like Michael Symon, so I'll probably check it out- though I can only take so much of his bizarre laugh.

What credentials did he use to be looked at in the first place? and if it is the lies that were used, in my book thats fraud.......my resume states what I did...not what I fantasize..seems to me somebody in FN dropped the ball big time by not following up on this...Hey FN why don't you check up on these people..or do you like wearing egg on your face

BOO!!!

Sure the guy lied but he can cook and is very entertaining to watch.

This is like when they try and replace an actor from a soap opera. The replacement never can hold a candle (or saucepan in this case), to the original.
