would like some advice on cooking whole deer on open fire or grill--how long, suggestions onmarinate, do I wrap in lard , bacon , butter etc...?

Not much of a butcher, so thought I would try old fashioned way and try it as whole or 1/2 if need be.Suggestions welcome but want to do outside as a little roasting party Thanksgiving Eve. I am sur ei wil haveto foil it up like cazy and maybe marinate prior or lard it up etc... but wondering how long it may taek ond or turn out --hopeefull not a tragedy :)
