_________ gives me heartburn
chocolate-covered coffee beans. granted, i would eat them by the dozen, but never else have i suffered heartburn. i was a little nervous the first time as i thought it was some sort of serious heart issue.

chocolate dipped potato chips!
and strangely, i am not pregnant.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but glow in the dark pigments can sometimes be nasty- a lot of tattoo artists won't use them because they used to all contain phosphorous.
Anyway, what if your body couldn't break it down and your pee glowed in the dark? The local watering hole would be visible from space!
Margherita pizza with fresh roma tomatoes. But when I eat caprese, I have no problems. I also have severe acid reflux disease at age 21, so pretty much everything hits me at some point.
@frederika, my IBS seems to come from Dad's line (Scot-Irish with a little French and German for good measure), as Mommee-the-Hun has no GI issues whatsoever. Luckily, mine is not a huge problem, with only a few attacks per year, mostly tied to stress and/or exhaustion. There are only a few specific foods that tend to really get me doubled over. When I was in my late teens and early twenties, it was horrible and required phenobarbital (back in the days when they called it spastic colon... remember that?). Now, I don't even medicate for it anymore, except a little ibuprofen for pain (counter-intuitive, I know, but it really works for me).
Nevertheless, I will definitely look into the Culterelle as I'm intrigued! I'll tell my dad and bro, too, as they've got worse troubles than I do. Thanks so much for the tip!
McDonalds with Coca-Cola. Doesn't matter which food. Something about the Coke does it.
Since I've pretty much sworn off both, it isn't an issue anymore, but it was always a weird phenomenon.
Funny, but green bell peppers are the only peppers that kill me. Orange juice, unless it's the acid reduced. Grapefruit juice...no way. I will die if I eat an apple without the skin peeled off.
@LoCo - Is IBS a Hungarian thing? My mom suffered with it, as I, and my daughter. Also, lactose intolerance and hypo-glycemic issues all seem to be hereditary with the females in the family. I don't think this is uncommon. After so many years of medicating to alleviate IBS misery, I have made a miraculous discovery. Actually, I thought I only had the option of medicating after an IBS episode onset, and it came to the point that almost any random food would bring it on. I never knew...one time I could eat potato chips or nuts, and the next time I would be doubled over in agony. Last year on the day before Thanksgiving, I thought I was having a kidney stone attack. At the ER the doc gave me an antibiotic for a supposed infection and also told me to get "Culturelle" to alleviate intestinal distress from the med, which was pretty potent. If you're not familiar with the product, it's a probiotic which has about 10 billion cells of lactobacillus in each capsule. It equalizes the bacteria in your lower tract. I feel like the posterchild for the product! One capsule a day will get you straight, girl. The doc himself said he takes these everyday and at the pharmacy, they could not stop raving about them. They are all that! I have not had an IBS attack since November and that's really saying something. This may not be the best thing, but I can eat anything I want now. Go get some!
hehe Bacos are the fake Bacon product that are used to top salads and other dishes. They're actually made out of soy. My dad (god help him) has a love of the things so whenever he makes a macaroni/pasta/potato salad, they sneak their way into my system. oh the agony...here's a link:

@machellebelle - Is a Baco some sort of Mexican food? All I can think of is a different type of Taco? Don't mean to be an idiot here, but I have never heard of Bacos.
We have a winner!
And it's ... MCHOW. Someone from Serious Eats will be contacting you shortly for shipping info.
Thanks to everyone who commented, and tune in again tomorrow and Friday for the final two Chocolate Library giveaways.
