Cook the Book: 'My Last Supper'

I would have all things potatoes, lasagna, salad and a huge German Chocolate cake. My guests would be George Clooney, President Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Danny diVito to provide some laughs, Bon Jovi to sing my favorite songs and author Gail Fraser who writes one of my favorite book series and I would request the dinner to be at George Clooney's Italian villa.

Cook the Book: 'Roast Chicken and Other Stories'

When I make chicken, our three cats sit by the counter in anticipation of the morsels they'll get. Tiger(a cat I rescued from outside and has food issues, in that he always wants it) has been known to sit for a half hour waiting for it to finish cooking. The three of them always lick their plates clean.

Cook the Book: Win a Copy of 'Cook with Jamie'

I taught myself through trial and error amd then of course there's Rachael and Sandra and Jamie and Paula and all of the other Food Network chefs. It's amazing the things you can learn by watching these shows.

Weekend Book Giveaway: 'Secret Ingredients, the New Yorker Book of Food and Drink'

One of my favorites is Nichola Fletcher. She wrote the book Charlemagne's Tablecloth. It's a book about the history of feasting; how grand dinners played a vital role throughout the history of the world. It shows how grand dinners didn't always happen around a table(one it profiles took place in a medieval bathtub; another was held on horseback on the 4th floor of a New York restaurant in 1903. It delves into anceint persia, medieval Europe and contemporary celebrations of rites of passage. Another book like it is Feast by Roy Strong.
