Cook the Book: 'Food Matters: A Guide to Conscious Eating'

This the standard answer, but like everyone else I am working on cutting down my meat consumption and uping vegetables and fruits. I've been getting more protein from eggs and nuts. Its been very interesting thinking about how what I eat impacts the environment. This feels very different from the original environmental ideas about recycling and driving less.

Lobster rissotto. Only need a little lobster to create tons of flavor!

Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 54: What Kind of a Diet Am I On?

Ed, I'm working on eating a very similar "diet". I refuse to eat lowfat cheese, but rather than a whole block, I enjoy a slice or two. I could never give up those sausage links, but I eat them as a side to an egg white veggie omlete. I'm working on eating more fruits and vegetables as snacks and the main part of meals, so I don't eat as much of the bad-for-you foods. On this site everyone loves to eat tasty foods, if you can't enjoy the best out there or occationally satisfy a pizza craving, whats the point?

Culinary Rule Breaking

@ cyberroo I'm the same way. I never measure carefully when I bake or cook. I prefer to use a one cup measure and then guess the half and quarter cup measures. Then spices kind of get pinched in. Until something gets really screwed up, I'm okay with this system.

Cook the Book: The Essence of Chocolate

Nigella's triple chocolate brownies are the most amazing texture, somewhere between brownies and fudge. Amazingly delicious.

The Next Food Network Star Season Finale

I was really pulling for "Always Hungry in Philadelphia". I didn't watch the show very regularly, but did tune into the finale, and Adam's show was the easiest to watch and suprisingly entertaining. Even though beer can chicken is a common recipe, I would look forward to seeing him "re-invent" dinner staples.

Best Hangover Food?

College taught me a very important lesson: Sausage, egg and cheese sandwich with salt, pepper and ketchup. A Gatorade to wash it all down.
