That's funny. Whenever I see that commercial I want those pancakes, too!

Corn Bread Dressing with Pecans and Bacon
MM... I love corn bread, love pecans and LOVE BACON!!!!
Cook the Book: 'Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics'
Roasted red pepper dip. It's cheese, mayo, more cheese, roasted red peppers, minced garlic, dash of mustard, baked, and served with tortilla chips or crackers.
Cook the Book: 'Second Helpings of Roast Chicken'
Garlic-for everything! (Well, except baking, in which case I would say butter!) but as far as spoiling, potatoes. I never manage to use the whole bag before they sprout eyes.
anybody have a hot cocoa mix recipe?
I put a tablespoon of cocoa powder, a little more than a table spoon of sugar and a dash of salt in a mug. Then I add a couple of ounces of warm milk and a splash of vanilla, stir til all the lumps are gone, then I add the rest of the milk and marshmallows or whipped cream. (I probably use a total of 8 ounces)
Cook the Book: 'The Cook's Country Cookbook'
I love roasted red pepper dip. Cheesy and delicious.
Cook the Book: 'Fat'
Pound cake. Many sticks of butter, but so delicious. (However, now that I think about it, other than angel food cake, what dish isn't better with fat?)
Cook the Book: 'Eat Me: The Food and Philosophy of Kenny Shopsin'
Yes, I've cooked chicken breasts with a mixture of garlic, oregano, olive oil and a splash of lemon juice. Add spinach to the pan to wilt, then serve with feta cheese and diced tomato in a toasted pita. Mmmmm
Cook the Book: 'The Modern Baker'
Baking disaster? chocolate meringues that flattened and baked to my sheet. I think I ended up throwing that cookie sheet away!
Success? Finally mimicing my mother-in-law's chocolate chip cake with some success!

definitely soup. But in a pinch fries will work too!
Cook the Book: 'Chocolate Epiphany'
Hmm.. last chocolate EVER? Well, it would have to be dark, maybe a dark chocolate mousse, with a chocolate wafer cookie?
Cook the Book: 'Sweety Pies'
Cherry pie made at a nearby apple orchard.. (hmm.. that sounds odd, doesn't it, like it should have been an apple pie!) but it was good. The crust was flaky and delicious (and I'm not a crust person) and the filling was perfectly sweetened.
Cook the Book: 'Summer on a Plate'
Okay, this is so not original but my mother. We live in the midwest, home to lots of farms, but not-so-adventuresome eating, and she is always willing to try something new.
Cook the Book: Wine Bar Food
I'm unoriginal, but I really enjoy some combo of the traditional cheese and crackers with some fruit (apple slices or strawberries).
Cook the Book: Lidia's Italy
I would make homemade butternut squash ravioli with a sage butter sauce... homemade garlic bread (lotsa garlic). For dessert, maybe a lemon mousse with rasberry coulis
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
Here, in the midwest (IL) we say Soda... but, like a previous commentor, I had a grandparent that said "sodie pop"
Cook the Book: The Oprah Magazine Cookbook
Crap, I forgot to put what food I'd share with Jon Stewart. FIsh tacos. Fresh gaucamole, Strawberry shortcake with whipped cream.
Cook the Book: The Oprah Magazine Cookbook
Jon Stewart. I love him. He brings the hotness everynight!
Cook the Book: 'Kneadlessly Simple'
French bread!!! YUM!
Cupcake Crackdown: Have the Food Police Gone Too Far?
Too bad this is an old thread because the problem has come up again. Why can't they just make smaller, healthier cupcakes and keep the tradition for goodness sake. They have smaller pans and one lousy cupcake and an extra run around the playground should be good enough. It isn't the cupcakes. It is a whole lot of other things.
Cook the Book: 'Kneadlessly Simple'
Multi grain bread! This looks like a great cookbook!!!
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
It's pop. Done. Unless it's a brand name.
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
Growing up in northern NY (not up state) it was soft drinks. Here in central NY ('cuse) it's soda.
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
@cybercita--that made me laugh out loud!
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
I lived in southern california my whole life and always referred to it as soda but after moving to Ohio ant age 23 I am getting sucked into calling it pop...
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
Soda. The stuff I don't drink.
Coke is only for Coca Cola and Cocaine.
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
i come from berkeley, where we called coca cola "the black waters of imperialism."
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
pop. and im curious... i live in the pittsburgh area, where we say pop, and pepsi has billboards every where just saying "pop". Where those of yousay soda, do they have "soda" billboards? every time i see one i wonder...
Soda, cola, pop, coke, etc.?
I live in california. Have lived here nearly all my life, and have always refered to it as coke no matter what I am drinking. I live in Riverside, CA but have also lived in San Diego, CA growing up and we called it the same in both places. Not sure who calls it soda sounds strange. But my cousins come down from Virginia and they call it Pop. Thought they were talking about those little pop rock candies the first time they asked for a pop. lol.

Pancake Island sounds like somewhere Flapjack and K'Nuckles would visit. Also somewhere I want to go.

The nannerpus commercial is my favorite commercial of all time.

Pain de Campagne and Scones

I dont care what these commercials are trying to convey... They fail because they make me want to go to IHOP even more. The cowboy one really bugs me/amuses me. So the economy sucks...I guess that means go to Denny's and be depressed with a depressing breakfast? No idea. I want giggle drops and a nanerpuss on my pancakes. Fun! And if I'm feeling serious, then dang nabbit i"ll order an omelet.

It so looks like a Sandra Lee creation. Especially with the Candy Corns on top.
@jenjw4, Rooty Tooty Fresh 'n' Fruity was an IHOP thing, I think... the place I always assume they're making fun of.
In Videos: 'Pancake Island' Denny's Commercial
Umm, I think a lot of people are missing the point of these commercials...
In Videos: 'Pancake Island' Denny's Commercial
Oh yeah. I would totally eat this....and the one from the other commercial--the pink monstrosity with the peppermint candies and twirling ballerina. Don't taunt me, Denny's!
In Videos: 'Pancake Island' Denny's Commercial
Those commercials scare the crap out of me.
In Videos: 'Pancake Island' Denny's Commercial
I actually want the pancake island. If there was a restaurant that served something like that I would definitely order it.
Cook the Book: 'Kneadlessly Simple'
I have sourdough starter that's 5 years old. I love using that because it's supposed to do something for insulin - either make it come or make it go away - whatever it is that is good for diabetics.
