My girlfriend's food allergies to egg/milk among others mean I've been subjected to a lot of faux foods
The only GOOD vegan pizza I have ever had came from Blackbird Pizzeria in Philly. (There's another one there I've yet to try as well though, to be fair). As a nonvegan, I actually liked it--Scratch that, I loved it! The mushroom pizza there was good enough that I had to confirm that it was actually vegan, because it didn't taste like something she could normally eat!

Serious Caffeine Rush: What Is Instant Coffee?

The only time I've tried truffles was while I was house/dog sitting for my mom. She had left some pasta/veggies/meat for me to throw together for us to eat while she was gone, trusting my abilities to get inventive. Rummaging through the pantry I found a little bottle of black truffle oil... Seriously didn't matter the rest of the ingredients, everything else was forgotten when I saw that. Tossed everything just lightly sauted with the oil drizzled over top, best food almost ever!

Oddly, here in TX the big grocery chain, HEB, has a WONDERFUL pumpkin ice cream in their store brand. It tastes just like pumpkin pie. Granted, it helps that pumpkin is just after the cream in the ingredients list. ;)

That's idiotic. I grew up as the fat kid, because while we rarely went for fast food when I was a kid, I sat in front of the TV or had my nose in a book all the time, and whenever I'd annoy the adults, they'd give me candy or something to eat to shut me up. It's not about one chain or even all of them. It's an entire culture that just sits there in front of the TV/computer, who drives instead of walking/biking, it's all of it combined.

There's no time/motive in our society for exercise, when it's seen as a horrid chore. Especially given how most gym classes are in school, it's torture time if you're not one of those lucky enough to be already athletic! What needs to change is less the restaurants, and more how we all approach exercise and fitness.

I almost never carry cash, it's just too inconvenient. My check card should suffice for anything, regardless of if they have extra fees. They can add it into their prices if they need to recoup that money.

What is your favorite way to prepare Grilled Cheese?

Butter the outsides of the bread, lots of sharp cheddar (the sharper the better!), and a liberal squirt of ketchup on both inside sides of the bread. Cooked right, the ketchup almost caramelizes, for lack of a better way to put it. Num!

Different "milks"

I drink mostly Silk, because my roomie/gf is allergic to milk (Not just intolerant, but actually allergic), and so otherwise I never get through even the smaller container of milk before it gets bad. Silk here, too, mainly because everyone here carries it. Even the Sunharvest (the local "hippie" grocery) doesn't carry other kinds that I've ever noticed. I'll have to try the suggestion @Kerosena had of mixing soy and rice milks together. The soy stuff did have a bit of an odd taste to me at first, but I don't even notice it anymore.
Now if someone would just come up with better "cheese". (The best we've found is tofutti's stuff, but even that tastes like plastic to this mouse...)
