10 Cauliflower Dishes We Love in NYC
it's a side dish, but the grilled cauliflower at st. anselm is simple and delicious.
Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout Is Worth the Hype
i'm a huge fan of the usual founders breakfast stout, so i wouldn't even question the imperial, i'd scoop it up & drink it up right away!
Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Korin Knife
we've got a really great japanese chef's knife with a rosewood handle.

Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Zingerman's Praise the Lard Gift Box
wrapped around a thin italian breadstick. meat on a stick, but a little classier.
Serious Eats Is Five Years Old: Happy Birthday to Us!
5 years already? i can't believe it.
Alton Brown's 'Man Breakfast' with Bacon, Eggs, and Hash Browns
simplest is often the best. i love hash browns, and lament they are so hard to find in the mid-atlantic. home fries just don't cut it for me, hash browns will always be my first love.
Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: Zingerman's Praise the Lard Gift Box
always having a nice, salty ham steak at thanksgiving or christmas with my family - we never had just turkey.
Seriously Delicious Holiday Giveaway: La Quercia's Cured Meat Experience
wrapped on thin italian breadsticks - simple appetizer for parties, travels well!
Cook the Book: 'The Food52 Cookbook'
banana bread - deceptively simple, but gets rave reviews at home (and points at the office) every single time.
Cook the Book: Minty, Boozy Chicken
made this last night (finally, after four years). very good! not sure if you're aware, but several steps of the recipe have been left out. the chicken gets turned and cooked another 30 minutes...
A Sandwich a Day: Classic Italian Hoagie from Amato's Deli in Philadelphia
i prefer taco method - lessens the chance of ingredients slippin' and slidin' out of the roll!
Best Food You've Had at a Music Festival?
i'm going to second @emhall with the fresh oysters from matunuck oyster bar at the newport folk fest this summer. they were reasonably priced by NYC standards and seemed very reasonably priced by festival standards. and there was hardly a line, which i found shocking... after spending 2 days in the heat and sun, it was nice to have something light and refreshing, not heavy or fried. http://www.rhodyoysters.com/

what's a good (or even just passable) substitute for those of us who didn't pickle ramps this year?
Forcella: Yeah, You Kinda Need to Get Here
i live a few blocks away, and will definitely give this place a try very soon! williamsburg & greenpoint has become a real pizza mecca!
Nitehawk Cafe: The Best Food You've Ever Had At A Movie Theater
went to see a movie a few weeks back and ordered a trio of tapas. the croquettes were my favorite, as well as the deviled eggs. can't wait to return - a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. i love that i can finally walk to the movies, and not just settle for sugary candy or overly salted popcorn.
Cannoli Ice Cream
thanks for this. i promised my husband i'd make him as close a re-creation as possible his old favorite, ben & jerry's holy cannoli, with our ice cream maker attachment we received for our wedding. our first anniversary was sunday. i'd better get started...
New Cast Iron Pans from Borough Furnace
i'm willing to chip in a small amount now, and purchase a skillet down the road. we're in the market for a 12" skillet as we only have a large one, and i love the roomy helper handle.
Birreria, Eataly's Rooftop Beer Garden: So Recommendable, Once You're In
sigh, the downsides of NYC life. folks so drawn to hype and newness (and subsequent bragging) that it is difficult to enjoy what could be a simple or straightforward dining experience!
Pizza-party catering menu? Help me with my 'pizza playlist'
this time last year i did my own spin on roberta's ramp pizza with homemade ricotta.
i think you should do a pickled veggie pizza like they do at best!
