Cook the Book: 'New Classic Family Dinners'

my favorite family dinner is our traditional Jewish holiday meal of brisket and savory onion noodle kugel (none of the cottage cheese and raisin nonsense!)

Snapshots from Italy: Making Burrata, the Meta-Mozzarella, in Puglia

oh lord, that looks unbelievable. I had Burrata at a restaurant called Obelisk in DC and can sometimes get it imported from the gourmet food stores around here, but I am sure it does not compare to the freshness shown here.

Dinner Tonight: Venetian Spaghetti with Sardines

Love this. I am definitely trying it soon...perfect for no meat Fridays!

Fresh Food on TV: Weekend Edition

I have really been leaning more towards the PBS programming lately. The Food Network gets kind of annoying. How many times can they play the Food Network Challenges at Disney, I mean really. Also I Tivo Anne Burrell's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, but I find her annoying and hard to watch. Thanks though for this good roundup of shows.

Grilling: Ember-Roasted Onion and Garlic Dip with Crispy Pita

That sounds delicious. I think the only onion dip I have ever had is the liptons onion soup mix and sour cream. Don't judge...we are all guilty of loving that overly processed pack of yumminess. I will have to try the real thing out soon :)

The Secret Ingredient: Pomegranate Molasses

I actually just made a pom BBQ sauce last night for some ribs, but yours sounds much better. Also, I am jealous of your proximity to Fairway. There are none in DC, but I always wander around the store when I visit my parents in NY.

Focaccia, the Easiest Homemade Bread

I absolutely love homemade focaccia, there are so many options with what you can put on it. It was one of the first breads that we ever made ourselves. Yum!!

Mixed Review: Miss Muffet's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes

I love the idea of this, I will definitely be trying this out at some point. I don't think it will be that much harder to make the components from scratch too!

Dinner Tonight: Roast Chicken with Spicy Hoisin Glaze

I love simple hoisin sauces. They are so easy but so flavorful.

Seriously Italian: Sicilian-Style Baked Cod

This sounds great. I am always looking for new recipes for my meatless Friday's, which are also year round just in case :)

Reducing Food Costs: Cooking with a Friend

This is a great idea, and even better that you are including lunch as well as dinner. I am all about menu planning (to an obsessive point sometimes). Can't wait to see how this goes for you :)

The Secret Ingredient: Pomegranate Molasses

I stumbled upon this site looking for recipes for Pomegranate Molasses, and I'm so glad I did! I love the Secret Ingredient idea and can't wait to check out the others! And these Pomegranate Molasses and Pine Nut Cookies are going to be a nice change to make for Christmas! Thanks for the inspiration!
