i miss li hing powder. when we were in hawaii, we'd put it on everything - especially fresh pineapple. i also like the gummy bears and sour patch kids coated in it.

Argh, I really don't like that powder, hahah!
My mother loves it on guava and nectarines and tomatoes...
I rather like my fresh fruit unadulterated!

you are right on the salt and fruit there... here in the philippines, salt is a common condiment for watermelons, pineapples, green mangoes, singkamas(jicama) the crunchy, bell-shaped macopa(wax jambu?)...etc.

and you're right, too, sour plum powder is simply wonderful on guavas. must be a chinese thing.

Purple or green Siniguelas(spanish plum) is also eaten with salt, especially when not fully ripe... i suspect it'll be great with sour plum powder... can't wait for summer!
