I have this great recipe for a pumpkin and sausage pasta. It is delicious!
Cook the Book: 'The Craft of Baking'
My Mom's coconut cake! She would always make it for my Dad's birthday. It was his favorite!
Cook the Book: 'Gourmet Today'
The first cookbook I remember using was my Mom's Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. The old standby. The first cookbook I remember being all mine was either a cookie cookbook or an Emeril cookbook about entertaining.
Cook the Book: 'Zingerman's Guide to Better Bacon'
Yummm. It's nice and salty and smokey. And there really is not better breakfast.
Cook the Book: 'Big Bob Gibson's BBQ Book'
My Dad grew up on the South Side of Chicago, and there are several great BBQ spots there. When we used to go back and visit, I could not get enough ribs, hot links and white bread to soak up all that good sauce. Yum!
Cook the Book: 'Bite-Size Desserts'
I love mini quiches, especially ones with artichokes or spinach. I also love sliders.

Italian tuna fish in olive oil and sliced tomatoes. Yum.

Anything on the grill! Especially BBQ grilled chicken. I love summer!
Cook the Book: 'Mrs. Rowe's Little Book of Southern Pies'
Last fall I went apple picking for the first time in years. I proceeded to make the best French Apple Pie ever! I was so excited. It was delicious.

I live in L.A., and the Brazilian food at the Farmer's Market is amazing. I love Pampas Grill!
What Is Superman Ice Cream?
Ahhh! Finally! I'm not the only one!
I love Superman ice cream SO much. I was born and raised in Ohio and went to college in Michigan, so I've been spoiled, always having access to my absolute favorite treat in the world. But now live in Los Angeles... and Superman is NOWHERE to be found. I've searched high and low, googled, researched, everything. It's really killing me!
Cook the Book: 'Rustic Fruit Desserts'
Warm Peach Cobbler! Yum!
Cook the Book: 'Endangered Recipes' by Lari Robling
My fondest childhood food memory is sneaking my Grandmother's tea cakes from the cookie jar in her kitchen. She would have to bake a double batch when my Dad and I came to visit, haha.
Cook the Book: 'Real Cajun'
My dad making gumbo while my Mom would sneak additional seasoning and ingredients into the pot when he wasn't looking.
Cook the Book: The Essence of Chocolate
I had these raspberry white chocolate cookies in Disney World when I was younger. I'll never forget them...
Cook the Book: Jamie at Home
My favorite winter dish would have to be chicken and sausage gumbo.
Cook the Book: 'Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics'
During the summer it's ribs, but during the holidays it's all about the sweet potato pie!
Cook the Book: 'Second Helpings of Roast Chicken'
I always have chicken stock on hand because I use it so much. Dairy products always sit in my fridge for way too long and go bad. Milk, cream, yogurt, you name it!

I'm an Aussie who misses weekly Sunday lamb roasts (so much more expensive over here and more of a hunt to get the right quality). However, when I do cook up a lamb roast I am 100% for simplicity - garlic and rosemary and lots of roasted veggies in the same pan to absorb the juices. I also like some simple jus or gravy from the juices at the end.

I used to make candied ginger and use the syrup for ginger ale. Then we made ground lamb patties with chopped candied ginger and mint leaves mixed in one night. Mmm...gotta do that again.
