I top my pancakes & waffles with_______
I put banana slices into pancake batter made with whole wheat flour and oats. Then I slice fresh bananas on top with syrup made from brown sugar and water. (boil them together until it gets nice and thick!)

Peanut Butter!!! Come on, folks--peanut butter and syrup is the best combination for pancakes, ever! And the protein will keep you from getting hungry again in a couple hours.
Waffles: maple syrup and butter.
Pancakes: Maybe a small drizzle of maple syrup if anything, but if there is anything added to the batter like blueberries (my favorite!) or chocolate chips, no topping necessary!

Chew on That
Yumm, it all sounds so delicious!
Maple syrup and butter, or fresh fruit and honey. Sometimes whipped cream and honey.
1: Pure Maple Syrup
2. Bananas sliced into the batter so they slightly caramelize as the pancake bakes. Top with melted peanut butter (possibly chocolate chips).
3. Fresh berries, preferrably blueberries.
A note on real maple syrup: Try Grade B---thicker, more maple-y, less expensive---buy it by mail in the 6 or 12 pak. The paler, more expensive Grade A amber is what they sell to tourists but I have been told that the locals always use Grade B. I'm not a local, but I think there's no contest.
Dont eat pancakes, but my fav topping for waffles is homemade lemon or orange curd! yummy!!
Butter and jam (preferably strawberry) on pancakes; butter and maple syrup on waffles.
I top my pancakes with a warm blueberry compote (I cook blueberries with honey or maple syrup for a few minutes, until softened.) I like this much better than putting blueberries in the batter.
Pancakes get butter & salt, waffles get butter and real maple syrup if it's available and powdered sugar if it's not.
If the base is good, the toppings are best kept simple. I might even have to make some pancakes for dinner tonight...
Since I moved to England, clotted cream is the ultimate pancake or waffle topping. I'll add fresh fruit or jam to the waffles (along with the clotted cream) but as a Canadian I think I would lose my passport if I didn't top my pancakes with maple syrup. I couldn't mess with perfection like that.
