I actually like the new Wendy's fries. Due to my schedule I have to eat out on Wednesday nights and I almost always choose Wendy's now due to the new fries.

I tried the carnitas myself recently. I have a corn allergy so I asked for them on flour tortillas, which they were very hesitant to do for me so I doubt I will ever order them again regardless of taste. But... on the subject of taste I have never had a fast food taco that was not Taco Bell and these were rather blah when compared to a real carnitas taco from a local mom and pop here in NC.

I have a corn allergy so after years of no soda (I really don't care for the diet stuff) I was anxious to try Pepsi Throwback. It taste like soda to me. Nothing too special or magical about it... back to good ol water.

A few years ago I decided that I wanted to fry a turkey for Thanksgiving instead of roasting it. As I lowered the turkey into the hot oil I realized that I did not have enough oil to cover the bird. I would estimate about a half inch of the bird was above the oil. I did not have any oil in the house and I did not want to make a grocery store run I decided to use a ladle and constantly baste the exposed area with hot oil. Although not the brightest idea, the plan seemed to be working fine.

My brother in law was helping me and he had the ladle, pouring hot oil on the bird as some oil popped on his arm. His reflex was to jerk his arm away from the oil and back towards his body. When he did, the ladle full of hot oil came with it and splashed on the crotch of his pants.

I cannot begin to describe the hilarity that ensued from his "hot crotch" dance that followed the splash. Needless to say, he avoids the turkey fryer now, and make sure I buy extra oil.

The local Mexican restaurant here serves a shrimp quesadilla. It is literally tons of cheese and tons of shrimp inside a toasted flour tortilla. Divine. I find it hard to order anything else.
