i ordered in from legend last night. it's a really fish and meaty menu, but i get the mapo tofu without meat (still really good), the braised lotus with pickled peppers (my favorite), and some sauteed veg. with mushrooms. i love this place! thanks for the photos... i see a couple of new things to order next time. tears in eyes? ok.

Erin, Jeff M. says green beans last a couple of weeks before they need to be roasted (limited shelf life, i think he put it). I've read, however, that beans last a long time when they're green. Folks are encouraged to to buy in large quantities and roast in small batches. Now I am confused... what part am I missing? Are they a different type of bean those guys use?

Vegetable ice creams... carrot/honey/rooibus, beet, and in Paris, a scoop of onion ice cream on ice cold gaspacho. Went to London two weeks ago- Ottolenghi was the only must do destination on my list. The Belgravia store was tiny and lovely. The salads were gorgeous, and strange, and delicious.
