Lamb gyro, all the way! I've also had breaded lamb's tongue, but it was not my favorite.

Besides SE, I love Cupcakes Take the Cake. It's my favorite place for yummy cupcake food porn :)
Cook the Book: 'The Craft of Baking'
Harry's Farmer's Market near me used to sell these amazing pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. I used to heat them up before I ate them so the huge chunks of chocolate would be all gooey...and I made my parents ship them to me while I was in college. Sadly, since Whole Foods bought out Harry's they've ceased to sell the muffins...sigh.

Nothing can beat a hearty potato soup (especially if there are chunks of skin left on the potatoes!). I love when there's a little bacon and some cheese on top, too.
Cook the Book: 'Gourmet Today'
My first one was one of those cheesy ones from kindergarten where everyone in the class (meaning, of course, everyone's mother) must submit their favorite recipe and they are all copied and compiled and passed out to everyone. Kind of silly, but fun
Cook the Book: 'Zingerman's Guide to Better Bacon'
bacon is crunchy, salty, super delicious, and tastes good with things both salty and sweet. What more could you want?
Cook the Book: 'Bite-Size Desserts'
Mini muffins!!! Haha
Cook the Book: 'What We Eat When We Eat Alone'
I love making sandwiches with pita bread or bagels. Recently I've been scrambling a couple of eggs to throw on there :)

How can I pick just one???? Let's see...anything with chocolate, really :) Probably pumpkin chocolate chip muffins....

Pasta! Especially with feta and spinach.
Cook the Book: '660 Curries' by Raghavan Iyer
I became good friends with an Indian girl in college and she introduced me to Indian food. My first dish ever was chicken tikka masala, and I was hooked!
Cook the Book: 'Mrs. Rowe's Little Book of Southern Pies'
I messed up a cake mix many years ago...added too much water!
Thankfully, it's been a long time since I had any baking disasters :)
Cook the Book: 'The Barcelona Cookbook'
At this place called Red Sky in Marietta, GA. Their corn/lobster dip was to die for!
Cook the Book: 'Bobby Flay's Burgers, Fries & Shakes'
I usually like my burgers simple...just some cheese and ketchup!!! But I've been aching to try these chili-stuffed burgers I've heard of...
Cook the Book: 'L.A.'s Original Farmers Market Cookbook'
I can't remember the name of the farm...but they were selling these super-yummy preserves and jams at the market at Union Square in NYC. I bought a bunch as gifts for every I know :)
Cook the Book: 'Seven Fires'
I know I've had some good authentic South American food....I dated a Colombian guy on and off for a few years and he took me to some of his favorite South American restaurants...but I can't honestly remember what I ate there (something with chicken? Rice?) I guess the food isn't what I remember about that relationship ;)
Cook the Book: 'Modern Spice'
I would say Indian food. My only attempts haven't been particularly successful...
Cook the Book: 'Rustic Fruit Desserts'
Anything with lemons!
Actually, I'm not a fan at all of lemon in savory dishes...I don't want it on my chicken or fish! But I love lemon in sweet dishes!!!
Atlanta Eats?
There's Flip Burger Boutique on Howell Mill Rd (chef is Richard Blais from Top Chef), which I haven't personally had a chance to try but have heard great things about.
There's also Straits (which I admit I first went to because it's Ludacris' restaurant) on Juniper Street downtown. They call the Singapore-inspired cuisine a fusion of Malaysian/Indonesian, Chinese, Indian, and Nonya. Very yummy!
Noodle (on Peachtree St, though I believe there are other locations) is a good Asian noodle house and one of my absolute favorites.
If you want something a little nicer, Rathbun's is great (and be sure to leave room for desert!)
I also second the Varisty...it's greasy, yes, but it's great and it's such an Atlanta experience!
Cook the Book: 'Endangered Recipes' by Lari Robling
We had our own holiday traditions: broccoli cheese soup for dinner on Christmas Eve, followed by orange pound cake encircled by gingerbread reindeer cookies.
We also had chocolate chip pancakes every Saturday, courtesy of my dad.
SE'er Food Blogs
I started mine when I was in pastry school...now I've been sharing my home baking adventures :)
Cook the Book: Eugenia Bone's 'Well-Preserved'
Fruit....jellies, jams, preserves, etc.
And I echo the person above who said "pizza" :)
Cook the Book: 'Bottega Favorita' by Frank Stitt
I love love love those large spirals...I think they're called cavatappi or something? For a quick, easy dinner I'll toss some with some roasted chicken, broccoli, and alfredo sauce.
Tea shops in Manhattan?
There's also Amai Tea and Bake House in Gramercy...lots of yummy loose leaf teas.
Cook the Book: 'Simple Fresh Southern'
I have made my great grandmother's carrot and zucchini o-shaped loaf for my in-laws for the past three years. I surround the loaf with and put in the middle tons of roasted broccoli - definitely a crowd pleaser, as it goes fantastic with the turkey and mashed potatoes and all the other classic sides!

Mom's and Grandma's Stuffing!
Cook the Book: 'Simple Fresh Southern'
Mashed potatos and gravy, just not Thanksgiving without this side.
