Chocolate peanut butter is my absolute favorite flavor and I'll take any sort of variation on it, too! I've had pretzels in it, marshmallows, brownie bites, caramel. It doesn't matter! As long as there is chocolate and peanut butter, I am in heaven!
I cannot wait to make this. I'm tempted to do it tonight. This is one of the best flavors and ice creams EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy moly! 8-10 cups of powdered sugar in the frosting! But it does make a cute cake...
That would make a lot of cider!!!!!
My most recent one is my Marshmallow Failure and I've got the photos to share: http://www.happygomarni.com/2010/04/marshmallow-failure-you-cant-win-em-all.html.
I thought I had ruined my KitchenAid standmixer whip attachment forever because it was near impossible to clean off from the sticky marshmallow mess! One day I'll try the recipe again, because I refuse to let the marshmallow win. But for now, I'm still in recovery mode. :)
definitely chocolate devil's food cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. and the darker the chocolate, the better!!!
wow that was an epic post! good sleuthing, guys! if you ever want to taste a west coast bagel, my absolute favorite is Izzy's Brooklyn Bagel in Palo Alto, CA. It's as good as or better than any bagel I've had in NY. MMMMmmm!! Now I want a bagel!
I read the title and I jumped to conclusions you were about to tell me of a hot dog flavored wine! As crazy as that sounds, Serious Eats posts crazy stuff like that all the time. But I'm a little relieved to know it's just for pairings!
Handel's Ice Cream in Ohio is one of the most marvelous things on earth. My mom grew up in Youngstown, and so I've tasted it a handful of times during trips back east. Still, as wonderful as it is, everything in moderation, right? Wrong.
We're out in California where it's not so easy to get Handel's (unless we want to spend $90 on shipping and handling to have a pint mailed to us). So the last time we visited Youngstown for a family reunion, we had the biggest craving of our lives for Handel's. We were supposed to pack in seeing lots of family over just two days, and the only way to make that happen was to organize nonstop family visits to Handel's. In those two days, we had Handel's for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and as a late night snack. That should tide us over till the next Youngstown trip.
wow, too bad they're gross. but you've just proven that photos do lie, then. because your photo of the candies at the top is AMAZING! wow! i just want to make that my desktop wallpaper!
i've gotta say, my marlene sorosky Cooking for Entertaining is pretty darn stained! oh, and my lori longbotham Luscious Chocolate Desserts. oh, and my family cookbook, not available in stores anywhere! :)
wow! i had no idea nancy silverton's sister was in the food business too! studio city is a bit of a shlep for ice cream, but i would make the trek for this!
