dude, i just checked their menu and they're charing $17 for the sausage pie. $17 for a 12" personal pie??? WTF?

$35++ for two dinky pies? GIVE ME A BREAK!!! Rather get 4 slices from DiFara's and be totally full and satisfied.

Baoguette: Great Vietnamese Sandwiches in Murray Hill, Possibly the Best Banh Mi in NYC

@Ed: many thanks for providing such a great forum for discussions on deliciousness. I wish Baoguette much success and would have loved to been with there with you and Robyn for the massive tasting! Best.

Baoguette: Great Vietnamese Sandwiches in Murray Hill, Possibly the Best Banh Mi in NYC

I'll pass on the bao drama queen sagas and suggest that we go old school. Saigon Vietnamese Sandwich shop on Broome and Mott beats ANY bahn mi in the city. Cost: $3.95 and it's not one of these slimmed down versions of a bahn mi like nicky's or baogette. plus these guys charge you an extra $1+ and you get 70% the sandwich.

Try on of Saigon's #1 spicy and tell me if anything beats it.

(damn, you guys are harsh.)

if my memory serves me correctly, ed used to have a tv show. i forget the name of the show but it wasn't bad. I'd love to see serious eats become a tv show of some sort.

(kelly: I'll congratulate you and gladly offer to share a few pies at Co. "Call me."

Great Sandwiches and More at Murray's Cheese Shop

murray's sandwiches aren't all that which always surprises me. while i agree with ed that walking down bleecker st, one can't help but notice them through the window. they're just not that memorable. after eating a few, you'd expect more from a place like murray's.

go to faicco's a few doors down and get an italian special for ten bucks. you can eat half of it for lunch and the other half for dinner. it's insanely large. now that is a serious sandwich....artisanal my arse. we're going old school.

New York's Best Cheeseburger, Take 100: The Little Owl

Seems like this burger should be eaten upside down. the bottom part of the bun looks too thin to soak up all the juice spilling out the meat. Don't get me wrong here, the burger looks fantastic especially knowing all the ingredients are of the finest quality.

What I Got for Christmas

Adam: this should teach you to make it a tradition to get an in-n-out burger as soon as you land and eat it on the way to wherever you're staying. That's what we do every time we fly into SF.

Co. Still Not Open

thanks adam. I've been following your blogs since the legendary 2006 pizza party at forino. whatever happened to "hot kate?"

I'm avoiding UPN...too much attitude and risk involved with my precious 20 bucks. if you had your choice, where would you go to have a pie right now?

(places I like are grimaldis and adrienne's. i really don't care for john's or arturo's etc. I'm looking for something newish...was hoping for Co. but...)

Five Guys' Fries Make Me Weep with Happiness, Burger Is Not Bad

I'm glad I've resisted walking into this place. I simply can't get past the prices here! $6.95 for a cheeseburger??? Come on.

I'd rather go to Shake Shack and get a Shake Burger there for $4.75.
