My mother asked for a recipe for the baked apple at Brennan's in NOLA. The waiter had worked there over 35 years and he knew the recipe and the tricks the chef used to make it better then it should have been. Tried it at home...EUREKA!

Drinking the Bottom Shelf: Bud Light Lime

When it was 94 outside at a ballpark in Round Rock Tx this past weekend, Bud Light Lime possibly saved my life. When the cold front came through and it dipped 30 degrees, I drank more Bud Light Lime to once again save my life (through numbing of the senses). I don't consider myself a beer drinker---so I say Bud Light Lime is fab :)

Food souvenirs from New Orleans?

All of my souvenirs from New Orleans came from Dorignacs in Metairie. It's an amazing grocery store and worth the trip. I had some Blue Runner Creole Spicy Red Beans last night and couldn't believe how amazing they were! We brought back King Cakes, Hubig's Pies, Zapps Chips and one of they muffelettas....all delectable. Also stocked up on seasonings and olive salad :)

Trader Joes has a specific gyoza dipping sauce that is AMAZING! Coupled with their frozen gyoza you can have some tasty snacks in about 6 minutes. Just don't eat the entire bag of gyoza for dinner.....I've "heard" it's a bad idea....
