Paula Deen. I'd ask her if it tasted good to her piehole. lol
I love my local independent grocery store, Hyde Park Produce (I live in the Hyde Park neighborhood of South Chicago) so much that if they weren't right next to my apartment, I would probably move.
I like Martins because it's big enough to have great sales and prices but not so big that it's a veritable warehouse and attracts huge crowds of people. It's comfortable in size and price and location.
Fairway Uptown; because it's Fairway, and because it's uptown, and because the cheese guys are nice to me.
When I lived in the Twin Cities (late 70's), it was Byerly's...not even sure if they are still up there. The aisles were carpeted and the carryout was a drive-through where baggers loaded your groceries into the car. Great idea for snow country!
In Boston (Allston) area: Russo's for all our produce and Whole Foods for pretty much everything else (well, except Diet Coke).
Cub for savings and reasonable variety, although I get as much as I can from our local coop and farmer's markets.
