BEST foodie gift ever?
One of the best foodie gifts I have gotten is a black truffle! Ideal foodie gifts include:
Any gourmet ingredient (foie gras; old old balsamic vinegar; nice olive oil; nice liquors like Cognac; wine; saffron; vanilla beans; truffle oil, butter, or honey; and nice cheese.)
Any useful kitchen gadget (i.e., an immersion blender, an espresso machine, a beautiful cutting board, a nice knife roll, or a really nice knife.)
Any great cookbook
A restaurant or foodie store gift card
Your Favorite Grilled Cheese Sandwich
true story...while i have no problem panini-ing it, if it's grilled cheese I'm after, then I'm a fan of the old-school. Some epic sandwiches have been made from wheat bread (I grew up on it) with kraft singles and excessive amounts of butter, fried in a pan until golden and melty. I've been known to make this grilled cheese for my brother at all hours of the day.
A side-note: not to do with grilled cheese, but are there any fried balogna sandwich fans out there?
