Ed Levine's Serious Diet, Week 61: The Acid Reflux Chest Tightness Diet
Omeprazole once a day. Every now and again I need an extra one, but one usually does the trick. This stuff saved me.

Do you let guests know they're eating raw eggs?
I never think about it. I don't normally serve raw egg except in Ceasar salad dressing and I never think to mention it. I just assume everyone knows that there is raw egg in the dressing.
Cook the Book: 'Urban Italian'
I love tiramisu made with a hint of chile powder. Oh my! Talk about a bite with a kick in it.
Where to Eat: SXSW 2009
Guerro's needs to be on this list. Mmm...
Cook the Book: 'On the Line'
I prefer mine grilled with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
What's So Weird About That?
As a kid I loved Oreos, but I only liked the white filling. I'd eat the filling then toss out the cookies.
Cook the Book: 'Baking Unplugged'
I made the mistake of baking a chocolate cake while suffering from PMS. I took down the entire cake in one sitting. That is what I call a baking disaster!

What's Your Signature Snack for the Super Bowl?
Velveta, Rotel, ground sausage and cilantro melted together and served with tortilla chips and scoops. Oh, and lots of beer!
Do You Always Eat Breakfast for Breakfast?
I have a standard daily breakfast that consists of tofu, Muir Glen stewed tomotoes, one egg, 1/4 cup egg beaters, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper and nutmeg all topped with fresh Cilantro. And, a grapefruit on the side.

West coast? What about the South? We Texans need our iced cookies!
What Would You Serve on Your Inauguration Luncheon?
I would start with a roasted poblano soup along with a large assortment of fresh baked breads. Next, would be a cheese platter and seasonal fruit. For the entree, a chipotle marmelade pork tenderloin along with Parmesan and pecan sweet potato gratin and grilled haricort verts. For dessert; Coca Cola chocolate cake.

My resolution is to . . .
I plan to eat more fresh veggies for dinner instead of relying on Lean Cuisines.
Romantic food
I love a nice spread of cheeses, good olive oil, red wine, French bread and red grapes. That alone is perfect!
Happy New Year!
I want to master homemade ice cream and bread!
Jeeves, and the Art of Curing the Hangover
I go for lots of coffee, a long and vigorous walk, 1/2 a grapefruit and a chocolate croissant.

I used to eat crisco shortening out of the can when I was a kid. One day I got caught and haven't had it since.
Do You Put Ranch Dressing on Pizza?
How do you get a white trash girl to suck your d**k?
Dip it in ranch dressing.
Thanksgiving Foods We Love to Hate
I love all of those things. I don't have them anymore at my thanksgiving table, but if I'm served (any and all of it!) somewhere, I go for it and bask in nostalgia for days gone by with Nana and the whole fam!
Thanksgiving Foods We Love to Hate
@ mr guy- I agree, the brining doesn't do much for me either. I've done it the past two years, and if you ask me it's a big pain in the ass for little results. Expensive too.
Thanksgiving Foods We Love to Hate
Cans of thick slop and sludge never get anywhere near my cooking. As a matter of fact, Campbell's cream "soup" line is single handedly responsible for making crock pots the biggest laugh in the kitchen. (The crock pot was later de-throned by Sandra Lee as the biggest laugh in the kitchen - ironically a chronic user of cream soups.)
Thanksgiving Foods We Love to Hate
Don't be hating on me, but Campbell's creamy onion soup is far superior to use in casseroles versus the cream of mushroom. When I took over Thanksgiving duty from my MIL, that marshmallow sweet potato monstrosity was banned from my menu. As well as the canned cranberry "sauce", I make my own SF version from the real cranberries from the produce section.
Thanksgiving Foods We Love to Hate
Everything was fair game until you got to the marshmallows.
Marshmallows aren't Thanksgiving food. They're candy.
Top Ten Worst Halloween 'Candies'
I disagree about a lot of the candy items mentioned here.
I, for one, LOVE the fun-sized (or mini, if you prefer) candies. It's a tiny bit of something insanely tasty, enough to give pleasure without causing tummy pains. When I was a young'un and I went trick-or-treating, one house gave out mini Clark bars. Yum-o-delish! I polished those off first.
I think the chewy peanut butter kisses taste absolutely divine.
Candy corn, I think is plenty of tasty, as are the candy pumpkins made of candy-corn base. Think little dollops of hardened cake-frosting.
As for apples and raisins, those I didn't mind in the least.
However, some items, I do agree about.
Toothbrushes -- a boring reminder
Religious pamphlets -- disappointing and WEIRD to boot.
Packages of "normal" food -- oh, for crying in Manhattan, what kid wants to receive a can of baked beans or a box of oat bran in his little plastic jack-o-lantern.
One time I received cough drops -- and not the Ludens or Pine Bros or Smith Bros or F&Fs, which are tasty and could pass as hard candy (as can the Ricolas). These were nasty little green pellets that were -- and tasted like -- MEDICATION. Like I said, for crying in Manhattan! For crying in Manhattan, Chicago, and San Francisco
Oh well. At least I didn't get a ROCK
Top Ten Worst Halloween 'Candies'
If I didn't live in an apartment building with no kids in it I'd be giving out and full sized candy bar AND a red bull to every kid. HAHAHA!!! HALLOWEEN IS FOR KIDS! SUCK IT PARENTS!
Best Halloween candy
Ok i have a question. What about Chips? Like A small bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos or Crunchy Cheetos?
Do You Put Ranch Dressing on Pizza?
I don't put ranch on anything! Gross tasting stuff.
Do You Put Ranch Dressing on Pizza?
Amen "omnomnom"! (I'm from Mich, too. Same area)
Do You Put Ranch Dressing on Pizza?
I absolutely love ranch on my pizza. Granted, I am a middle-school student (though homeschooled), and got the idea from my (middle school, homeschooled) friends after we started dipping French-Fries in Ranch (that's justified in Mich--here most of the fries are way too greasy or way too dry). We decided to try it on our pizza--and it's great. Only Hidden Valley (tm) works though. Deep dish pizza doesn't need it, fortunately. A group fave for us is cayenne pepper, fresh black pepper, ranch, and tabasco sauce. I agree, if it's good pizza, it doesn't need condiments, but (1) pizza in metro-detroit isn't that good, and (2), it doesn't matter if it needs it--if ya want it, I say put it on unashamedly!
the best cookbook for beginners
Well I just married 2 weeks ago and I bouth the book Taste of Home cookbook I love it. It gives you picture for every recipe and give you "how to" and "why". Every recipe that I have tryed has been great.
McDonald's Filet-O-Fish: Yea or Nay?
I haven't had one in decades but just to keep this sandwich going, I will go there and have them.
McDonald's Filet-O-Fish: Yea or Nay?
They're tastey but they're like 700 calories each!!!!!!
Best Halloween candy
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and the mini Mr. Goodbars.
Growing up, it was rumoured that the (ritzy) neighbourhood next to ours had residents who'd give out whole candy bars for Hallowe'en -- tempting to a teenager, but our bag of swag was always good enough :)
Best Halloween candy
Okay, the best candy was the chocolate bar, the bigger, the better...Nestles Crunch, Butterfingers, Milky Way, Snickers, Clark Bar: they were the cream of the crop. The bottom of the bag were the Smartees which were the laughing stock of our hoard. My sister and I would try to trade them, to no avail. No one liked Smartees, and yet oddly enough , we ate them, anyway.
Mother's Cookies Update After Kellogg's Purchase
I really hope Mother's Butter Cookies make the reissue. I'm down to my last half dozen.
Do you enjoy eating game?
@wellred: that's not hypocritical at all! More people should be willing to try new things, like different types of game! Check out my recipes if you're looking for something new!
Do you enjoy eating game?
Have tried venison, wild boar, goat (not game, but less commonly eaten meat in North America), buffalo, quail, ostrich...can't think of what else. Liked them all. I would try almost any animal as long as it was either raised for meat or properly hunted...but I do have a double standard for dogs, having grown up living with one. I know it is hypocritical; I'm OK with that.
Do you enjoy eating game?
I've eaten venison for most of my life, but I wanted to try some new things so I tried out this recipe for grilled dove kabobs that I found on AmericanHunter.org the other day and it was a huge hit at my cookout! Check it out: http://americanhunter.org/ArticlePage.aspx?cid=40&id=1699
Mother's Cookies Update After Kellogg's Purchase
Dang!!! Kellogg is taking over the cookie industry!!! Wish they would do it right though. Gaucho's are better then Nutter Butter by Nabisco. Recipes can be duplicated... if the ingredients are the same i.e. flour, sugar, butter, whole mike. But when you start cutting corners by using HFCS, margarine and such to make it...Safe and better for you.. LOL. Cookies are desserts not health food. The name Mother's Cookies instilled home made goodness and taste not artifical stuff. My Mother used the basics. We did not have margarine or High Fructose Corn Syrup. Back to basics, please.
Mother's Cookies Update After Kellogg's Purchase
I'm hoping for the return of Flaky Flix, Choc. Chip Angel, and those heavenly peanut butter Gouchos
