Vegetable Steamer

So my mother has always been telling me to steam my vegetables and I'm finally going to listen. Now I just have to get a better way to do it. I'm wondering what products most people use to steam their vegetables. Can anyone recommend a good setup? Do you use a dedicated pot for it or just an add on or some other appliance altogether? My kitchen does not have a lot. I'm trying to become a better cook though.
