Raphael, this is an amazing list you have compiled. Tongs are seriously one of the most underrated kitchen tools of all time. Thank you for bringing this to the attention of those not in the know! I would make one additional recommendation (already in this thread): mortar & pestle. It's environmentally friendly, and if you go ask Alice, there's no other way to make pesto.
This is an aberration of unholy proportions. I pity the poor madeleines who have to suffer through their short lives jammed with this vile synthetic substance. yuck!

Dorie, have you ever seen Fluff in Paris? Once when I was in Le Bon Marche there was a whole display of them...next to fancy jewelry. Obviously just for show (or maybe people did buy them!), but it was funny to see it in that high-class context.

Mmmm, ham. On a french roll with dilled havarti, lettuce, and plenty of sharp mustard. Wrap it and eat out in nature somewhere.
Ham and honey mustard...preferably from Honeybaked Ham...Yummmmm
Ham, mayo, cheddar cheese and thinly sliced granny smith apple on any hearty bread is good. Or ham, swiss, grainy mustard on rye is another fave. No plastic orange singles or white wonder bread need apply.
I love an open faced ham sammy with some whole grain mustard and a fried egg.
