Cook the Book: 'Good Eats: The Early Years'

This year, after cooking for 2 days in preparation for our family feast, my son "the chef"helped me out and made dessert at his restaurant and brought it home on Wednesday eve. He made a red pear tart with shortbread pastry TO DIE FOR, and the most perfect pumpkin pie that I have ever tasted in my life. I knew he was my favorite child, LOL! Our dinner was wonderful and our dessert was divine.

When I crave a snack and I want it to be healthy I make Ants on a Log! It is a peice of celery filled with peanut butter with some raisins on top. YUMMY!!! I gave this to my kids when they were growing up, and they still love it as teenagers.

I make a heavy cream and egg custard to pour over sliced Panattone and let it sit over night in the refridgerator, then cook it up the next day.Christmas morning is very NY delish, and later we have clams and chocolates and anything else left over from our feast from Christmas Eve the rest of the day to nosh..
