How do you tell people their food could be better?

Like beauty in the eye of the beholder or artistic taste being defined as, "I know what I like.", so too taste in food is a highly personal thing. You may like buttery scones, but to some it may be an acquired taste (albeit one that comes very! easily) and at first takes awful. My point is, to each his own and it's not your place to tell her the food sucks if likes it.

Time for a Drink: Hot Toddy

We usually only have them when we feel a cold coming on, preferring Canadian whiskey or Bajan rum (Mount Gay) with a bit of ginger. Haven't thought about using whisky (single malt) as it seems a shame to water it down that much. Either way, if we have a cold, the toddy either makes it go away ... or we don't seem to care so much. :)

In winter there's usually either a pot of leftover soup or chili, which goes great with a sandwich.
