This really is the perfect flan recipe. It's so easy. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/THE-PERFECT-FLAN-1902. My tip: put a dish towel in the pan under the ramekins to keep them from sliding around and sloshing hot water all over.
Armadillo in Florida at a Native American gathering. The meat was shredded and in barbecue sauce, like pulled pork. It was served in a bowl made from the armadillo's shell.
Hot dog! I just can't pass up a hot dog that's been grilled. I don't even care what brand it is.
And we've got our winners! Congrats to hmneilson, caviarandcodfish, apisoni, namepl, and swaaaan. Winners have been notified by email and also appear on our Contest Winners page. Thanks to everyone who entered!
i shop at albertsons because they have a lot of good sales
I love Henry's market in San Diego. It's close to my house, they have great deals on local fruits and veggies, and they have $3 bottles of wine. Awesome.
Central Market in Houston - great prepared food and basics at good prices
I usually shop at the new Super Walmart purely because they just opened a store a mile from where I work. My favorite supermarket is Trader Joe's, but I don't go but a few times a year since 45 minutes is too long to drive to get up there. I have a feeling that I would like Whole Foods a lot too if I ever go to one, but the nearest one of those is at least an hour away.
Vons is my favorite store. They usually have the things I need on sale and they still double coupons. The fruits and vegetables are high quality which you can't get in the discount stores. The meat is fresh and there is a nice assortment.
We recently moved to West Virginia, which has stunning natural beauty and the nicest people on the planet...but the grocery stores here are terrible. Locally, my only choice is an IGA. My favorite all-time grocery store was Wegman's, which I used to be able to visit when we lived in Virginia.
Here in Texas, I love HEB. They have a great wine, health food, bakery, deli and sushi section. I can get almost anything there and the people are awesome!
I love Lunds/Byerlys, a local store. Great products that you can't find elsewhere. Plus, the stores are always very clean.
